For more than 25 years, I've served in community, educational, and advocacy support and counseling roles. I'm fascinated by each person's unique identity, as well as our ecological systems, and I have always sought to understand our biopsychosocial nature. I earned my Bachelor's in Biological Sciences at Stanford and Master of Social Work at USC in Children, Youth, and Families. Using my Pupil Personnel Services Credential, I provided school-based mental health services in San Carlos School District for 4 years.
As a second generation Chinese/Taiwanese-American, I grew up in rural New Jersey, and I am fluent in conversational Mandarin. I love hiking the Bay Area's open space preserves, taking in the sight, sound, and scent of the ocean along the Pacific coast, and enjoying a big, deep laugh every day. I'm an avid geocacher, reader, boardgamer, and foodie, and I spend my free time with my two adult daughters and one adult son. I try to bring a warm smile, my down-to-earth personality, and an open heart everywhere I go.
